Overall design |
Male C57BL/6 mice were used. For the surgery, the mice were anesthetized with avertin and placed in a stereotaxic frame, after which the AuNPs were injected into the hippocampus at fixed coordinates [anteroposterior (AP): -2.18 mm, mediolateral (ML): ± 1.2 mm, dorsoventral (DV): -2 mm] for 4 min at a 0.5 μl min-1 rate using a 26-gauge 10 μl Hamilton syringe. The mice were then placed in the middle of a pane between two coils at 3 weeks exposure. One pair of Helmholtz coils was used for both the control and AuNPs groups with EMF exposure.
