Title Characterization of Antibiotic Resistance and Metal Homeostasis Genes in Midwest USA Agricultural Sediments
Platform organism uncultured soil microorganism
Sample organism uncultured soil bacterium
Experiment type Other
Summary Two-stage channels are a relatively new best management practice design used to treat nonpoint pollution. Soils collected from these channels in agricultural ditches were analyzed to elucidate the microbial functionality of the system.

Overall design Genomic DNA was extracted from the soils of three sites collected in distinct Level IV US Ecoregions. Sampling was conducted in two years, and the initial set included duplicates for each site. DNA was hybridized on the GeoChip 5.0M.
