Prospective Authors
The GeneReviews editorial staff is pleased to invite authors to contribute to GeneReviews.
Our mission is to provide point-of-care information on inherited conditions that is clinically relevant and medically actionable, covering diagnosis, management, and genetic counseling for patients and their families. GeneReviews are written for the busy clinician, and as such have a primarily clinical focus.
A GeneReview may be authored by an individual or a group. Because the focus of Genereviews is primarily clinical, we require that at least one author be an MD; the MD author(s) will be responsible for the medical content of the GeneReview.
Requirements for authoring a GeneReview:
You/your group must have at least one peer-reviewed publication on the disorder.
You/your group must be involved in research on and/or treatment of the disorder.
At least one MD must be included in the author list and be actively involved in authorship.
To offer to author a GeneReview, please email ude.wu@rgwen and include the following:
Your name and affiliation
Name of the disorder for which you are offering to write a GeneReview
Copies of at least one and no more than three peer-reviewed publications (.pdf) on the disorder on which you are an author
Any other experience that you or your group have with this disorder
The GeneReviews editorial staff will review all offers – considering our mission and the GeneReviews already in process – and respond within an estimated one to three weeks. You will be notified by email if your offer is accepted, and a custom template will then be prepared for you.
