Biomaterial provider Dr E Fuller Torrey, Stanley Medical Research Institute, 8401 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 200, Chevy Chase, Maryland, 20815, USA
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was isolated from human postmortem brain tissue using Trizol (Invitrogen, USA) or Tri reagent (Sigma, UK) total RNA isolation kits according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Label Biotin
Label protocol Double-stranded cDNA was synthesised from 5 micrograms of total RNA using Superscript II double-stranded cDNA synthesis kit (Invitrogen, USA), purified, then in-vitro transcribed and labelled using BioArray HighYield RNA transcript Labeling Kit (Enzo Life Sciences, USA)

Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 15 micrograms of cRNA were hybridised to Affymetrix Human Genome 133A GeneChips for 16 hours at 45oC with constant rotation at 60rpm. Chips were washed and stained according to manufacturer's instructions using the Affymetrix GeneChip Fluidics Station 400.
Scan protocol Affymetrix HG-U133A GeneChips were scanned with the Agilent GeneArray Scanner
Description none
Data processing The raw data (CEL files) were read into R statistical package and normalised using the robust multi-chip average (RMA) method (Irizarray et al, 'Exploration, normalization and summaries of high density oligonucleotide array probe level data', Biostatistics, 2003).
