    Summary
    Encodes an enzyme with 3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/C4-decarboxylase activity <i>in vitro</i>. The activity of the enzyme was determined using microsomal extracts of yeast overexpressing the <i>Arabidopsis</i> gene. Cytosolic fractions failed to be associated to the activity, leading to the speculation that the enzyme is membrane-bound.
