SRX3606830: Metagenome of Mt. Erebus fumaroloes: site A subsurface
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 1000) run: 10.9M spots, 2G bases, 1.3Gb downloads

Design: DNA was extracted from samples using a modified CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) bead-beating protocol. Extracted metagenomic DNA was frozen and sent to the sequencing facility at University of California, Davis, where paired-end libriaries were prepared and sequenced using standard protocols for the Illumina Hi-Seq platform.

Study: Geothermal fumarole subsurface microbial communities from Mt. Erebus, Antarctica
show Abstracthide Abstract
Using metagenomic sequencing and binning techniques, we identified and enumerated members of the subsurface-associated microbial community in the high-elevation fumarolic sediments of Tramway Ridge
Sample: iron-silica sediments
