The Brachypodium distachyon accessions Foz1, Jer1, and Luc1 exhibit substantial variation for nonhost resistance to wheat stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici). To understand the genetic variation present between these accessions, we performed de novo assembly of the genome from publically available data using CLC Assembly Cell. In addition, fourth and fifth leaf from each accession was sampled, RNA extracted, and deep sequenced using Illumina paired end sequencing. We generated de novo transcriptome assemblies using Trinity.
