In this study, we generated a high-quality chromosome-anchored genome assembly of M. piceus (black carp). This assembly aimed to provide crucial data that will significantly contribute to research on various aspects of black carp biology, including genomic features, environmental adaptations, nutrient utilization, and population genetics.
