Design: At least 120 anthers of 1.0 1.2 mm size were collected and RNA was extracted using TRIzol PlusRNA Purification Kit (Thermofisher Scientific) following the manufacturers instructions). RNA-seq libraries were constructed using TruSeq mRNA Sample Preparation kit (Illumina) as recommended by the manufacturer. Libraries were quality checked using a Bioanalyzer 2100 (Agilent) and quantified by both qPCR (KAPA Library Quantification Kit, KAPA Biosystems) and using a Qubit fluorometer.
