Figure 4 is a forest plot depicting our meta-analysis on improvement in total /global scores in dementia. Three placebo controlled trials of aripiprazole were pooled, resulting in a statistically significant standardized effect size of .20. Four placebo controlled trials of olanzapine were pooled, resulting in a statistically significant standardized effect size of .12. Four placebo controlled trials of quetiapine were pooled, resulting in an effect size of .11; however, 95% confidence intervals were -.02 to 0.24, which is not quite statistically significant. Finally, six placebo controlled trials of risperidone were pooled, resulting in a statistically significant standardized effect size of .19.
