Pediatr Nurs. 1995 Nov-Dec;21(6):534-6, 574.

Indoor environmental allergy is a significant problem in the pediatric population. Allergen exposure is a major risk factor for the development of asthma. Avoidance is one approach to allergy management and asthma prevention. Environmental controls are a series of allergen avoidance measures to decrease exposure to allergens.
