Abstract

Hyperbaric oxygen is a topical measure that may be an alternative treatment in chronic ulcerative skin lesions. Hyperbaric oxygen, when used with the correct criteria, will increase microcirculation of a lesion and facilitate healing time. The focus of this paper is to review the indications and contraindications, as well as the methods, in use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
