Management of chronic hypertension in pregnant patients

J Perinatol. 1987 Summer;7(3):245-53.

Abstract

Chronic hypertension is a medical disorder associated with increased maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity. The disease is also associated with superimposed pre-eclampsia and requires consultation. The antihypertensive therapy associated with the best results remains to be clarified. The literature, however, substantiates the use of a multidisciplinary unit to manage these patients in order to maximize outcomes.
