Abstract

OBJECTIVE:

This commentary discusses recent preclinical research on the potential feasibility and benefits of applying advanced DWI methods for the assessment of acute stroke.

CONCLUSION:

A DWI parameter known as kurtosis shows promise in helping to identify tissue that is likely salvageable at reperfusion.
