Abstract

Objective: To study the water-soluble chemical constituents of Taraxacum mongolicum.

Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by means of several chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Results: Nine compounds were isolated and identified as trans-p-coumaryl alcohol(1), trans-p-coumaryl aldehyde(2),p- hydroxybenzoate (3) , p-hydroxyphenyl-propionic acid (4) , 4-hydroxy-2, 6-dimethoxyphenol-1 -O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5) , protocate- chuic aldehyde(6) ,rutin(7) ,quercetin(8) ,kaempferal-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 1-6) -β-D-glucopyranoside(9).

Conclusion: Com pounds 1-6 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
