Abstract

To determine whether Danish patients want the opportunity to receive treatment with acupuncture during hospitalization, we conducted a questionnaire survey among 500 patients in the recovery room. 84% of the patients answered the questionnaire. 81% were interested in receiving treatment with acupuncture for nausea and pain. Out of these 54% were interested in receiving treatment with acupuncture before ordinary medical therapy, and 94% were interested in receiving acupuncture as a supplement to conventional therapy throughout their admission at the hospital.
