Abstract

An anomalous congenital band is a well-known cause of intestinal obstruction, but it is rare and usually presents a diagnostic challenge. With high-frequency sonography, it is possible for intestinal obstruction due to a vitelline band to be diagnosed preoperatively. We describe the sonographic findings of 2 cases that led us to make the correct diagnosis, which was confirmed by surgery.
