Abstract

IgG antibodies to Pityrosporum orbiculare were detected by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in sera from 10 healthy adults and five healthy 6-month-old children. The ELISA showed 17-80 times higher antibody levels in adults than were found by an indirect immunofluorescence technique (IIF) used in earlier studies. Low titres of antibody were detected in the children.
