The aim of the guideline is to provide recommendations to help health care professionals in their management of people with Type 2 diabetes. The guideline is aimed at all health care professionals providing care to people with diagnosed Type 2 diabetes in primary and secondary care, irrespective of location. Depending on the type, stage and severity of clinical problem, the guidelines may also be valuable to those who work in the tertiary sector of diabetes care. The guideline aims to cover the foot care and management of people with diagnosed Type 2 diabetes. It does not cover people who have not been diagnosed as having Type 2 diabetes, for example those in a pre-diabetic state or people with impaired glucose tolerance.
