Author information

Department of Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland 21205.

The normal distributions of plasma lipid and lipoprotein levels in American children and adolescents are well-documented. These values can be used as working guidelines for the diagnosis of children felt to be at high risk for CAD in adulthood and those who may be suspected of having one of the inherited disorders or dyslipoproteinemias associated with premature CAD in adulthood.
