Abstract

The complexity of care needs and care itself are increasing every day. Though nurses must have a great flexibility and be prepared to complex and demanding clinical situations, nurses must "do nursing with more nursing inside". Thus, by the nature of the roles they play, these professionals need support to improve and develop their practice Several authors argue that clinical supervision is widely accepted as an essential prerequisite for the quality of nursing care, it can be regarded as a major force to improve and develop clinical standards, and it is a mechanism for support of the professional practice, among other aspects, so this article aims to reflect how clinical supervision in nursing can be seen as a quality strategy in the context of advanced nursing practice.
