Drop hand in a 12-year-old girl: radial nerve at peril due to knitting

Abstract

Reported here is a 12-year-old girl who suffered numbness and weakness in her right hand. She was diagnosed to have a right-sided radial nerve injury proximal to the supinator muscle. To the best knowledge of the authors, this is the first report of a child with radial nerve entrapment due to intense knitting.
