Abstract

This article describes a care methodology, for abused children living in orphanages. This study aimed at increasing the theoretical-methodological knowledge on therapeutic play, and to develop a methodology for its application. This qualitative Convergent Care Study was developed between October of 2004 and April of 2005, with three children. Data were collected using open interviews and participant observation. The analysis process included collection, synthesis, theorization, and recontextualization. Results evidenced that the methodology can be applied, as it allowed better care of these children.
