Abstract

Research has attempted to identify the unique stressors involved in HIV/AIDS care, and suggestions have been made to alleviate stress and burnout in HIV/AIDS health care workers. While the level of stress and burnout is not likely to be as high as in the pre-HAART era, health care workers are likely to provide better care to patients when they are satisfied with their work and suitably prepared to deal with emerging challenges.
