Abstract

Progress in the discipline of nursing is predicated on the development of a community of scholars who have passion for substance. Nurse educators are challenged to develop programs and environments that stimulate and nurture scholarship. However, doctoral education that enhances scholarship encompasses more than coursework. Strategies for the development of scholarly doctoral education are discussed in this article.
