Abstract

A 27-year-old primigravid woman with advanced preterm labour at 23 weeks and 5 days gestation received tocolytic therapy with a continuous infusion of the oxytocin antagonist, atosiban, during 154 h. The delivery was postponed for 12 days. The baby was discharged after 3 months of neonatal care and at 6 months of age is healthy. The prolonged treatment was not associated with maternal or fetal side effects.
