Modifying factors on repair phenomena

Adv Space Res. 1989;9(10):187-95. doi: 10.1016/0273-1177(89)90437-7.

Abstract

Every step of radiation damage repair can be modified by several factors like temporal and local energy distribution (LET), physiological conditions, biochemical and chemical composition of the target environment. Most interesting in the case of space radiation is the possible influence of high LET and of microgravity which could change the repair i.e. fusion capacity as well as the phenomenon of self assembly.
