Incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) that received remote ischemic peri-conditioning (RIPC) and those that did not. The overall rate of AKI was 8.7% in the RIPC group versus 18.5% in the non-RIPC group. With regards to stages of AKI, the incidence of AKI was nominally lower in RIPC group, compared to non-RIPC group in stage 1 (6.3% versus 13.0%), stage 2 (1.6% versus 3.3%), and stage 3 (0.8% versus 2.2%) AKI.
