THALASSEMIA (MEDITERRANEAN DISEASE) OCCURRING IN FILIPINOS AND CHINESE
Abstract
Five cases of thalassemia minor in persons of Filipino and Chinese extraction were observed.
The occurrence of biliary calculi in two of the patients suggests that this may be a relatively common complication of thalassemia as it is of other hemolytic diseases.
