1.

Gliosarcoma

A rare histological variant of glioblastoma (WHO grade IV) characterized by a biphasic tissue pattern with alternating areas displaying glial and mesenchymal differentiation (WHO). [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
64638
Concept ID:
C0206726
Neoplastic Process
2.

Myxopapillary Ependymoma

A slow growing, WHO grade I glioma which generally occurs in young adults. It arises almost exclusively in the conus medullaris, cauda equina, and filum terminale of the spinal cord. It generally has a favorable prognosis and is characterized histologically by tumor cells arranged in a papillary manner around vascularized mucoid stromal cores. (Adapted from WHO). [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
104717
Concept ID:
C0205769
Neoplastic Process
3.

Astroblastoma

A rare glial neoplasm more commonly found in young adults. It is characterized by tumor cells with characteristics suggestive of an astrocytic origin (positive for GFAP), arranged perivascularly. The cells have broad, non-tapering processes radiating towards a central blood vessel. The biologic behavior of astroblastomas is variable, so no WHO grade has been established, yet. (Adapted from WHO.) [from NCI]

Concept ID:

4.

Neoplasm of the central nervous system

A benign or malignant, primary or metastatic neoplasm that affects the brain, meninges, or spinal cord. Representative examples of primary neoplasms include astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, ependymoma, and meningioma. Representative examples of metastatic neoplasms include carcinoma and leukemia. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:

5.

Neuroepithelial neoplasm

A neoplasm composed of neural epithelium, not necessarily a neoplasm located in the neural epithelium or neuroepithelium. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
60215
Concept ID:
C0206715
Neoplastic Process
6.

Neuroectodermal neoplasm

A neoplasm arising in the neuroectoderm, the portion of the ectoderm of the early embryo that gives rise to the central and peripheral nervous systems, including some glial cells. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
60072
Concept ID:
C0206093

7.

Unspecified encephalopathy

A functional and/or structural disorder of the brain caused by diseases (e.g. liver disease, kidney disease), medications, chemicals, and injuries. [from NCI]
