1.

Leukemia

A cancer of the blood and bone marrow characterized by an abnormal proliferation of leukocytes. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
9725
Concept ID:
C0023418
Neoplastic Process
2.

Ependymoblastoma

A highly malignant embryonal tumor of infancy and young childhood characterized by neuroectodermal elements organized in distinctive multilayered rosettes. Ependymoblastomas are large lesions that occur in the supratentorial compartment, typically displaying a physical connection to the ventricular system. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
152150
Concept ID:
C0700367
Neoplastic Process
3.

Astroblastoma

A rare glial neoplasm more commonly found in young adults. It is characterized by tumor cells with characteristics suggestive of an astrocytic origin (positive for GFAP), arranged perivascularly. The cells have broad, non-tapering processes radiating towards a central blood vessel. The biologic behavior of astroblastomas is variable, so no WHO grade has been established, yet. (Adapted from WHO.) [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
90811
Concept ID:
C0334587
Neoplastic Process
4.

Medulloepithelioma

A primitive neuroectodermal tumor that originates from the cells of the embryonic medullary canal. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
87272
Concept ID:
C0334596
Neoplastic Process
5.

Primitive neuroectodermal tumor

A group of malignant tumors of the nervous system that feature primitive cells with elements of neuronal and/or glial differentiation. Use of this term is limited by some authors to central nervous system tumors and others include neoplasms of similar origin which arise extracranially (i.e., NEUROECTODERMAL TUMORS, PRIMITIVE, PERIPHERAL). This term is also occasionally used as a synonym for MEDULLOBLASTOMA. In general, these tumors arise in the first decade of life and tend to be highly malignant. (From DeVita et al., Cancer: Principles and Practice of Oncology, 5th ed, p2059) [from MeSH]

MedGen UID:
64627
Concept ID:
C0206663
Neoplastic Process
6.

Neuroepithelial neoplasm

A neoplasm composed of neural epithelium, not necessarily a neoplasm located in the neural epithelium or neuroepithelium. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
60215
Concept ID:
C0206715
Neoplastic Process
7.

Neuroectodermal neoplasm

A neoplasm arising in the neuroectoderm, the portion of the ectoderm of the early embryo that gives rise to the central and peripheral nervous systems, including some glial cells. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
60072
Concept ID:
C0206093
