Organic Chemical; Pharmacologic Substance
2.

3'-Deoxyadenosine

A purine nucleoside antimetabolite and antibiotic isolated from the fungus Cordyceps militaris with potential antineoplastic activity. Cordycepin is an adenosine analogue, which is readily phosphorylated to its mono-, di-, and triphosphate intracellularly. Triphosphate cordycepin can be incorporated into RNA, and inhibits transcription elongation and RNA synthesis due to the absence of a hydroxyl moiety at the 3' position. Because it can be converted to an inactive metabolite by adenosine deaminase, this agent must be administered with an adenosine deaminase inhibitor in order to be effective. Cordycepin has displayed cytotoxicity against some leukemic cell lines in vitro. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:

Concept ID:
C0056331
Nucleic Acid, Nucleoside, or Nucleotide; Pharmacologic Substance
3.

Position

The anatomical localization of the specified phenotypic abnormality. [from HPO]

7.

Point mutation

A mutation caused by the substitution of one nucleotide for another. This results in the DNA molecule having a change in a single base pair. [from MeSH]

MedGen UID:

8.

Purine nucleoside

Purines with a RIBOSE attached that can be phosphorylated to PURINE NUCLEOTIDES. [from MeSH]

MedGen UID:

Concept ID:
C0034136
Nucleic Acid, Nucleoside, or Nucleotide; Pharmacologic Substance
9.

Adenosine preparation

A nucleoside that is composed of ADENINE and D-RIBOSE. Adenosine or adenosine derivatives play many important biological roles in addition to being components of DNA and RNA. Adenosine itself is a neurotransmitter. [from MeSH]

MedGen UID:
127
Concept ID:
C0001443
Biologically Active Substance; Nucleic Acid, Nucleoside, or Nucleotide; Pharmacologic Substance
