How to: Determine conserved synteny between the genomes of two organisms

Starting with an organism of interest...

  1. On the Map Viewer home page, click on the "magnifying glass" icon for one organism.
  2. Select the chromosome.
  3. Zoom, or use the Region Shown boxes on the left, to delimit the region.
  4. Use the Maps and Options dialog box to add maps from the other organisms. First select the organism, then the desired map, then click ADD.  Note:  Currently, you can compare chimp, human, mouse and rat.
  5. For human, you can also change the assembly.
