Hippocampus was isolated immediately on ice, washed with cold D-PBS, and snap-frozen with liquid nitrogen. The Frankenstein' protocol was adopted to isolate the nuclei from frozen tissues (https://www.protocols.io/view/frankenstein-protocol-for-nuclei-isolation-from-f-5jyl8nx98l2w/v2).
