The DGE library NSVir-8d was constructed from Crassostrea gigas oyster hemocytes collected 8 days before an experimental infection by virulent Vibrio species (V. splendidus LGP32 and V. aestuarianus LPi 02/41 Type I). Only animals that did not survive infection were used.

The sequence files of each DGE library were analyzed with BIOTAG software (Skuldtech, Montpellier, France) (Piquemal et al. Genomics 2002) for tag detection, tag counting and for assessing DGE library quality.
