Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Trizol extraction of total RNA was performed according to the manufacturer's instructions. The RNA was then Dnase treated and purified using Qiagen Rneasy columns.
Label biotin
Label protocol RNA from each sample was converted into cDNA, then amplified and labeled with biotinylated nucleotides by in vitro transcription to produce biotinylated cRNA.
 
Hybridization protocol The cRNA was hybridized to a microarray chip.
Scan protocol The bound cRNA was stained with fluorescent streptavidin.

Data processing R Bioconductor Affy package was used to analyze the microarray files. After loading the raw CEL files in R, RMA (Robust Multi-Array Averaging) was used to subtract background, normalize intensities and summarize gene expression levels
