| Treatment protocol |
The treated mice were intraperitoneally injected with ferric nitrilotriacetate 5 times a week for 12 weeks. The administration was started at a dose of 5 mg iron/mouse kg weight for the first two weeks. The dose was increased to 7 mg iron/mouse kg weight for the next 10 weeks. The mice were euthanized when they were dying.

The scanned images were analyzed with Agilent Feature Extraction Software 10.7 using default parameters (CGH_107_Sep09 protocol).
