Title Expression analysis of Aedes aegypti starins Moyo-S and Moyo-R in response to different serotypes of dengue virus
Organism Aedes aegypti
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in Moyo-S and Moyo-R strains of Aedes aegypti after oral infection of serotype 1, serotype 2, serotype 3 and serotype 4 of dengue virus
The Moyo-S is highly suscpetible to dengue infection whereas Moyo-R is refractory to the dengue infection. They have been investigated in our previous studies incluidng Behura et al. (2011). PLoS neglected tropical diseases 5 (11), e1385; and Chauhan et al. (2012). PloS one 7 (10), e47350.

Overall design This is a 12-plex high defination NimbleGen array design. Two strains of Aedes aegypti (Moyo-S and Moyo-R) were investigated afteral orally feeding the females with blood meal contamianted with different serotypes (n =4) of dengue virus. Expression levels of Aedes aegypti genes were measured at two post-infection time points 3hour and 18hour. Uninfected control (blood fed only, no dengue) were prepared for each time point for both Moyo-S and Moyo-R. Each control and test sample was derived from three independent feeding experiments. Hybiridization was done in two batches. In the first batch, 12 sample (4 control and 8 test samples) representing infection material with two serotypes were used. In the second batch, the same procedure was used but for the other two serotypes of dengue virus. Hence, a total of 24 samples were used for hybridization.
