Title |
Genes differentially expressed by Haemophilus ducreyi during anaerobic growth significantly overlap with those differentially expressed during experimental infection of human volunteers |
Organism |
[Haemophilus] ducreyi |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The transcriptional response of Haemophilus ducreyi to anaerobiosis was determined over the course of 18 h. Cells were collected from aerobic and anaerobic cultures at 4, 8, or 18 hours .

|
|
Overall design |
Overnight aerobic cultures of H. ducreyi were subcultured into GC broth plus hemin, FBS, and IsoVitalex that contained either the commercial product Oxyrase or the buffer components of Oxyrase to yield anaerobic and aerobic growth conditions, respectively, and grown for up to 18 h.
