Title Profiling subcellular localization of nuclear-encoded mitochondrial gene products in zebrafish
Organism Danio rerio
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Analysis of subcellular location of mitochondrial gene products using two distinct cell fractions: membrane-bound (MB) and high speed (HS) obtained via biochemical fractionation from wild type individuals and mia40a zebrafish mutants, respectively.

Overall design Identification and characterization of membrane associated (MB) mitochondrial transcripts that are likely to be translated on the surface of mitochondria and those that seem to be synthesized by the free cytosolic polysomes (HS). Additionally, we noticed that proteostatic stress response triggered by the mia40a mutation in zebrafish causes accumulation of mRNAs encoding mitochondrial proteins in HS.
