Thermococcus sibiricus overview

Lineage: Archaea[1515]; Euryarchaeota[983]; Thermococci[34]; Thermococcales[34]; Thermococcaceae[33]; Thermococcus[25]; Thermococcus sibiricus[1]
Thermococcus sibiricus.Thermococcus sibiricus is a hyperthermophilic anaerobic archaeon isolated from a well of the never flooded oil-bearing Jurassic horizon of the high-temperature Samotlor oil reservoir (Western Siberia). The organism is indigenous to the reservoir and survived over geologic time by metabolizing buried organic matter from the original oceanic sediment.
