Brachyspira pilosicoli overview

Lineage: Bacteria[22995]; Spirochaetes[212]; Brachyspirales[9]; Brachyspiraceae[9]; Brachyspira[9]; Brachyspira pilosicoli[1]
Brachyspira pilosicoli.Brachyspira pilosicoli is an anaerobic spirochete that colonizes the large intestine of various species of birds and animals and humans. It attaches to colonic enterocytes in a condition called 'intestinal spirochetosis', characterized by mild colitis, diarrhea and reduced growth.
