Anopheles funestus.This mosquito species is a major vactor of malaria in Africa. It breeds weedy sides of streams and rivers, drainage ditches, and protected areas of ponds and lakes. It prefers permanent bodies of water which are fed from underground sources. It has a strong preference for humans as a food source. Most feeding takes place in human dwellings at night.
