Escherichia coli str. K-12 substr. MG1655 (strain: K-12, substrain: MG1655)
Lineage
Bacteria; Pseudomonadota; Gammaproteobacteria; Enterobacterales; Enterobacteriaceae; Escherichia
Also known as
ECK1826; yebP
Summary
A kdgRyebQ clone conferred hypersensitivity to trimethoprim, but a yebQ-alone expression clone did not, leading the authors to conclude that overexpression of the transcriptional regulator YnfL was responsible for the Acr-S phenoptype. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG14018]. The "2-Keto-3-deoxygluconate repressor," KdgR, is a DNA-binding transcription factor that represses transcription of the operons involved in transport and catabolism of 2-keto-3-deoxy gluconate (KDG) . [More information is available at EcoCyc: G7003].
