Summary

Molybdopterin synthase catalyzes the second segment of the pathway leading to the synthesis of the molybdenum cofactor, molybdopterin guanine dinucleotide, which chelates molybdate and is present in and essential for the activity of all Escherichia coli's molybdenum-containing enzymes.
