Located in several cellular components, including calyx of Held; intercalated disc; and photoreceptor outer segment. Part of alphav-beta3 integrin-PKCalpha complex. Is active in presynaptic cytosol. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; early embryo; genitourinary system; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in dilated cardiomyopathy; high grade glioma (multiple); large cell carcinoma; and reproductive organ cancer (multiple).
