Is integral component of presynaptic membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; nervous system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Used to study Parkinson's disease and primary hyperaldosteronism. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including end stage renal disease; mental depression; migraine with aura; obesity; and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
