Molecular subclasses of high-grade glioma: prognosis, disease progression, and neurogenesis

(Submitter supplied) Novel prognostic subclasses of high-grade astrocytoma are identified and discovered to resemble stages in neurogenesis. One tumor class displaying neuronal lineage markers shows longer survival, while two tumor classes enriched for neural stem cell markers display equally short survival. Poor prognosis subclasses exhibit either markers of proliferation or of angiogenesis and mesenchyme. Analysis of gene expression data is described in Phillips et al., Cancer Cell, 2006. more...

High-grade gliomas (HG-U133B)

Analysis of high-grade glioma (HGGs) samples from cases of WHO grade III and IV astrocytomas. Results classify HGGs into molecular subclasses with prognostic value that predict survival and disease progression. The molecular subclasses resemble key stages of neurogenesis.

Helicobacter pylori-mediated Epigenetic Dysregulation of FOXD3 Tumor-suppressive Cascade In Gastric Carcinogenesis [MMASS]

(Submitter supplied) Promoter hypermethylation occurs in human gastric cancers, but whether the deregulated genes contribute to the multi-step Helicobacter pylori (H pylori)-induced gastric carcinogenesis remains unclear. We used Microarray-based Methylation Assessment of Single Samples (MMASS) to identify differential methylated genes in 10 human gastric cancer tissues.

Helicobacter pylori-mediated Epigenetic Dysregulation of FOXD3 Tumor-suppressive Cascade In Gastric Carcinogenesis [ChIP]

(Submitter supplied) Forkhead box (Fox) proteins constitute an evolutionarily conserved family of transcriptional regulators whose deregulations lead to tumorigenesis. However, their regulation and function in gastric cancer are unknown. Promoter hypermethylation occurs during Helicobacter pylori (H pylori)-induced gastritis, but whether the deregulated genes contribute to the multi-step gastric carcinogenesis remains unclear. more...
