Next generation sequencing analysis of ginseng transcriptomes in response to Botrytis cinerea △BcSpd1 treatment

(Submitter supplied) Next generation sequencing (NGS) was performed to identify genes changed in ginseng upon Botrytis cinerea △BcSpd1 treatment. The goal of the work is to find interesting genes involved in ginseng in response to fungi induction. The object is to reveal the molecular mechanism of ginseng defense induced by Botrytis cinerea △BcSpd1 .

RNA sequencing of the regulatory network of ginsenoside biosynthesis under Ro stress in the hairy roots of Panax ginseng

(Submitter supplied) Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer is a precious Chinese herbal medicine belonging to the Araliaceae family. Because ginseng is extremely taboo, it seriously restricts the sustainable development of the ginseng industry. The allelopathic effect of triterpenoid saponins is one of the important incentives for continuous cropping disorders. However, there are few studies on the mechanism of allelopathic autotoxicity of triterpenoid ginsenosides. more...

Transcriptome analysis of 1-year-old Panax vietnamensis Ha et Grushv.

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: Panax vietnamensis Ha et Grushv., which contains various valuable ginsenosides, is an important herbal medicine of Vietnam. However, it is an endangered species listed in Vietnam Red Data Book due to over-harvseting. Investigation about genomic or trancriptomic resources is one of the necessary activities to conserve P. vietnamensis Materials and Methods:. In this study, we sequenced the transcriptomes of 1-year-old P. more...

Nitrate fertilizer alleviates ammonium toxicity by enhancing ACLA-3 in Panax notoginseng roots

(Submitter supplied) Nitrogen is one of the essential elements for plant growth. NH4+ and NO3- are two major forms of absorbing element N for higher plants. In this study we found that the growth of Panax notoginseng is inhibited when only adding ammonium nitrogen fertilizer, and adding nitrate fertilizer can alleviate the toxicity caused by ammonium. We use RNA-seq to identify genes that are related to the alleviated phenotypes after introducing NO3- to Panax notoginseng roots under NH4+ stresses. more...

RNA illumina sequencing of Panax notoginseng under CK and Cd stress treatment

(Submitter supplied) The total RNA were extracted from tissues of roots from several plants of Panax notoginseng under CK and Cd stress treatment by using TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen) according to the manufacturer's instructions. The purified PCR product was sequenced using Illumina Genome Analyzer II. The qualified reads were used to study of Panax notoginseng transcriptome under CK and Cd stress treatment.

Transcriptome analysis of the effects of cold stress on Panax ginseng embryogenic calli

(Submitter supplied) We reported the first study of transcriptome analyses using the Illumina HiSeq4000 platform for low temperature stress on callus of Panax ginseng. In total, over 546,139,358 clean reads were produced and 44,953 unigenes were assembled; Q30 results are above 95%. Differentially Expressed Gene analysis identified 9,435 and 6,345 unigenes which were expressed either higher or lower in treatment group samples(T) when compared with control group (C). more...

Phased secondary small interfering RNAs in Panax notoginseng

(Submitter supplied) Recent results demonstrated that either non-coding or coding genes generate phased secondary small interfering RNAs (phasiRNAs) guided by specific miRNAs. Till now, there is no studies for phasiRNAs in Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H. Chen (P. notoginseng), an important traditional Chinese herbal medicinal plant species. Here we performed a genome-wide discovery of phasiRNAs and its host PHAS loci in P. more...

RNA-seq transcriptome analysis of Panax japonicus, and its comparison with other Panax species to identify potential genes involved in the saponins biosynthesis

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we have performed Illumina based RNA sequencing to characterize the transcriptome and expression profiles of genes expressed in 5 tissues of P. japonicus. RNA sequencing and de novo transcriptome assembly for P. japonicus resulted in a total of 135,235 unigenes with 78,794 (58.24%) unigenes being annotated using NCBI-nr database.
