This variant lies in the RTEL1 gene (transcript NM_001283009.2) at coding-DNA position 878, where G is replaced by A; at the protein level this means replaces glycine at residue 293 with aspartic acid — a missense variant. Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces glycine with aspartic acid at codon 293 of the RTEL1 protein (p.Gly293Asp). The glycine residue is weakly conserved and there is a moderate physicochemical difference between glycine and aspartic acid. This variant is not present in population databases (ExAC no frequency). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with RTEL1-related conditions.
